COBA Major Player of the Week - Ryan Wood

The COBA Major Zero K Bats Player of the Week is Ryan Wood of the Milton Red Sox. This is the first weekly award for Wood this year. For his week, he played one game batting 1.000 (2-for-2) with a home run and a single. He also walked once while scoring a pair of runs and collected 4 RBIs.

 

For the regular season, Wood finishes the year hitting at a .333 clip (5-for-55) in limited action. He had a double and a home run for extra base hits while scoring five runs and collecting seven RBIs.

COBA Major Pitcher of the Week - Cam Ryerson

The COBA Major Sam Bat Pitcher of the week is Cam Ryerson of the Burlington Brants. The veteran hurler takes down this honor for the second time this season. In his only appearance this week, he collected the win as he tossed seven innings allowing no runs on just three hits. He had one HBP, walked three while striking out six.

 

Ryerson finohses the year with a 3-1 record as well as collecting a save. He threw 28 1/3 innings and allowed 27 runs (21 earned) on 41 hits for a 6.73 ERA for the year. He walked 11 batters while striking out 20.

COBA Major Team of the Week - Burlington Brants

The COBA Major Zinger Bats Team of the Week for the last week of the season are the Burlington Brants. The Brants had one game this week as they went 1-0 on the week. Two pitchers combined to twirl a shutout as they defeated the Milton Red Sox by a score of 4-0. 

 

With the wins, Bulington finishes the year with a record of 15-9-1 on the season good for 31 points overall as they captured the Anson Buck Memorial Trophy for the best regular season record in the COBA Major Baseball League.
