Here are the COBA Major League Week IX POWs and Team of the Week:

 

COBA Major Player of the Week - Kevin Greer

The COBA Major Zero K Bats Player of the Week is Kevin Greer of the Milton Red Sox. This is the first weekly award for KG this year. For his week, he played three games batting .500 (6-for-12) with a double and a home run. He scored five runs, collected six RBIs in helping Milton collect a pair of wins.

 

For the season, Greer is now hitting at a .351 clip (20-for-57). He has four doubles, a triple and a pair of home runs while plating 16 runs and driving in 14 RBIs.

COBA Major Pitcher of the Week - Chris Cloes

The COBA Major Sam Bat Pitcher of the week is Chris Cloes of the Milton Red Sox. The veteran hurler takes down this honor for the first time this season. In his only appearance this week, he collected the win as he tossed a complete game (7 Inn) allowing two runs (both earned) on six hits. He walked two while striking out seven Brampton batters.

 

Cloes now sports a 3-1 record on the year. He has thrown 30 innings and allowed 11 runs (all earned) on 31 hits for a 3.30 ERA. He has walked only three batters while striking out 25.

COBA Major Team of the Week - Milton Red Sox

The COBA Major Zingers Bats Team of the Week for the second week in a row are the Milton Red Sox. The Red Sox had three games this week as they went 2-1 on the week in three games at home at the Milton Sports Complex. They beat the Erindale Cardinals 9-7 before splitting a DH with Brampton winning 3-2 and losing 13-12

 

With the wins, Milton now sits at 9-8-1 on the season good for 19 points overall and are currently 3rd overall in the COBA Major League Standings.
