Here are the COBA Major Week XIII POWs and Team of the Week:

 

COBA Major Player of the Week - Nathan Laird

The COBA Major Zero K Bats Player of the Week is Nathan Laird of the Niagara Metros.This is the first time winning a weekly award for the rookie Metros infielder. For his week, he played three games going 7-for-14 with a home run, a double and five singles. He scored seven runs while collecting two RBI and stealing three bases.

 

On the season, Laird is now hitting .328 (22-for-67) with a home run and three doubles. He has also scored 12 runs while collecting six RBI. Congratulations to Nathan Laird; the COBA Major League Player of the Week

COBA Major Pitcher of the Week - Cam Ryerson

The COBA Major Sam Bat Pitcher of the week is Cam Ryerson of the Burlington Brants. This is the second week in a row the veteran hurler has taken down this award. In his only appearance this week, he collected the win tossing a complete game allowing two runs (one earned) scattering 10 hits. He walked a pair of batters while striking out eight.

 

For the season, Ryerson now sits with a 5-0 record with a save. In his 50 2/3 innings of work, he has allowed 15 runs (12 earned) on 47 hits good for a 2.13 ERA. He has walked 23 batters while striking out 50. Congratulations to Cam Ryerson; the COBA Major Pitcher of the Week.

COBA Major Team of the Week - Niagara Metros

The COBA Major Zingers Bats Team of the Week are the Niagara Metros. This is their second time winning this honor this year as the Metros went 2-1 in league play. The Metros started the week off with a tough 10-9 loss at Erindale but followed that up with a pair of wins beating Milton 11-5 at home and then defeating the league leading Etobicoke Rangers 11-7 at Connorvale Park.

 

With the wins, Niagara now sits with an 8-9-1 record on the season good for 3rd place in the Johnson Division currently. Congratulations to the Niagara Metros; the COBA Major Team of the Week.
